There is a study that says that over the past couple of decades, mental health has increased within younger generations. This is because of educational expansion and a change in economics. Kids start to view their worth as grades because to make it in the world they think having good grades is the only way. Putting that much pressure on a kid increases their stress levels. This leads to more mental health issues in younger generations. Being alienated in school is also a part of this stress.
